63 Scholes Street... the other Williamsburg
My grandfather was born in a house at the above address in 1898. He spent his childhood on this street, growing up in this neighborhood as so many children of immigrants have and continue to do. This documentary is about the working class families that live in Williamsburg in all it's diversity. Those living in this area are a cross section of cultures and experiences of urban life that creates the dynamic of American possibilities. As the existing neighborhood is threatened with gentrification that could eliminate these families from the landscape in the coming years, this project attempts to show this changing part of Brooklyn and those who represent it's past, present and future.
