SDN is excited to announce the third SDN Online Documentary Portfolio Reviews. We have teamed up with leaders in the editorial, publishing, and fine art industries to review work of documentary and editorial photographers, offer constructive criticism, and to keep an eye out for new and talented photographers.
Since 2008, SDN has been at the forefront of promoting global documentary photography through our website, ZEKE magazine, SDN Education and other programming that we offer to our network of photographers and others interested in the power of images to tell important stories.
Portfolio Reviews Summary
Reviewers Choice Award
A select panel of reviewers will choose the most accomplished projects for a Reviewers Choice Award. Two awardees will be selected and announced at the panel on Saturday afternoon following the reviews and their winning projects will be displayed online to the audience. Each award winner will receive $150.

Reviewers Choice Award winners will be announced at the panel.
Moderated by Lauren Walsh, Professor at New York University and Director of the Gallatin Photojournalism Lab. She is the author of Conversations on Conflict Photography (2019) and Through the Lens: The Pandemic and Black Lives Matter (2022), co-author of Shadow of Memory (2021) on the Bosnian War, and editor of Macondo: Memories of the Colombian Conflict (2017). She is a leading expert on the visual coverage of conflict and crisis. She is also the lead educator for a new curricula on media and visual literacy, as part of the Content Authenticity Initiative.
