Reception Behind Perspex.
The first job of the pandemic was to install perspex screens at reception and dispensary to protect staff. These were donated and installed by the husband of a staff member, just a day before his supplier was forced to close.

Pandemic in Focus

Lockdown UK XX

Christiaan Partridge | Suffolk, United Kingdom

The UK has been hit hard by COVID-19. These images are of my experience of Lockdown as a parent and a rural family doctor. They encompass many changes and adaptions, including home-schooling and exercise, social distancing measures, having to source outside the NHS for personal protective equipment, much of which has been donated.  I have  also had to cope with the loss of loved ones and colleagues.

Legislation and medical guidance continue to change, waiting rooms are empty and remote consulting is the new normal. Government messages of hand hygiene remain as measures are slowly relaxed. Sporting seasons have been ended or not commenced, however, the weather has been exceptional and the natural world is booming.

I wanted to show the effects of the current pandemic on both my home life and my working life.  I have had to embrace changes that have occurred very rapidly.  Much is publicized about the effects on hospitals, but there has been little published regarding Family Doctors.
