Nicola "Ókin" Frioli (Rimini, Italy 1977)
Italian freelance photographer, graduated in Belle Arti in his homeland, worked for 20 years in documentary photography, and advertising campaigns. In these 20 years he has traveled mainly in Mexico and the Ecuadorian Amazon. He now lives in Mexico for 15 years with his 2 dogs. His work has been published in magazines such as Washington Post, Time Magazine, The Guardian, Stern, El País Semanal, Geo, GUP, British Journal of Photography among others.
He has been certified by Risc Training for suitability and preparation for coverage in risk areas.

Nominated in Prix Pictet, The global award in photography and sustainability, 2023 Winner in the “Human Nature” Award of the Zoom Photo Festival Saguenay 2021. Shortlisted in SpotLight and Short Story categories in World Report Award 2021. Shortlisted in the Nannen Preis 2020, Hamburg Germany.
Selected in “State of the World” Exhibition for the Paris Photo Festival 2019. Photographer of the Year in the ASPA Award 2018.
