Brynne Quinlan is a documentary photographer and librarian based in Somerville, MA. They first engaged with photography at the Roski School of Fine Arts and later studied photojournalism as a practical application. Bringing the two realms together has been an ongoing personal negotiation between documentary and formalist values and has highlighted the importance of photography as mediator.
Initially focused on capturing the unique and peculiar aspects of everyday life, their interest has evolved to emphasize interpersonal and environmental moments. Brynne's work has been published in Nat. Brut, DigBoston, the Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism, Martha’s Vineyard Magazine, and shown in Photo Lab, Public Fiction, and Gallery 263.
