b. January 27, 1955, a fraternal twin with brother Ted. I was raised in San Diego, California. In the 1970s after high school, I attended Palomar College, Maine Photographic Workshops, and Ohio University, where I earned a BFA degree. I became a photojournalist in 1983 for Southern California newspapers, including The San Diego Union-Tribune. A decade later I became a teacher at West High in Salt Lake City. I retired from teaching in 2019. My wife and I have three adult daughters, 3 grandkids and share our tiny home with three dogs and two ferrets! We call Ogden, Utah home.
