Joe Harrison is a documentary photographer and environmental practitioner (MAppSc) based in Ōtautahi/ Christchurch, Aotearoa/New Zealand (NZ). In 2024 he was named NZ Geographic Photographer of the Year. 

Since 2010 Joe has undertaken several visits to the Republic of Georgia, resulting in an extensive body of work covering the country's people and landscapes. In recent years he has focused on long term projects on social and environmental issues not far from his home. 

Joe's work has been widely published by media outlets including: NZ Geographic, North & South, NZ Herald, Avenues, Wilderness, NZ skier, Climber, Skialper (Italy) and Eurasianet (USA).
