Challenges and Resilience

We are born this way, we did not choose to be albino.
The lack of melanin, the substance responsible for the pigmentation of the skin, hair, and eyes, is part of our reality. We are constantly faced with the need to protect our very fair skin, our white hair, and our eyes, which are more sensitive to light.

We suffer from skin conditions related to spots, which sometimes end up turning into very serious skin cancers because we cannot afford to buy the ointments necessary to treat our skin, and these are very expensive.

We learn to accept and embrace our differences. It is a daily struggle, and living with this condition is very difficult, both at work and with our loved ones. We have come to understand that beyond the physical aspects, our identity as albinos is part of who we are, and it can also be a source of strength.
