Exhibit Title: Glimpses of Queens: Life On The Street
Location: United States
"Glimpses Of Queens" features street photographs primarily focusing on people from all walks of life, captured in Queens, New York. Queens is the most ethnically diverse county in the U.S. Queens, nicknamed "the world's borough" reflects 130 spoken languages and from 120 countries present in the borough. Like the Queens of 50 to 100 years ago, the borough today gets its vitality from a generation of immigrants pursuing a better life by practicing old-fashioned middle class virtues as hard work, family involvement and civic participation. The project depicts the human condition in a sensitive and most relatable manner.
Eva Mallis is a street photographer who has spent the last seven years capturing the essence of Queens through her lens. As the daughter of Greek immigrant parents, she possesses an intimate familiarity with the borough and its diverse neighborhoods.
