In 2019, the Social Documentary Network created the ZEKE Award for Documentary Photography. In November 2021, SDN began a partnership with the Foundation for Systemic Change to create the ZEKE Award for Systemic Change. This award recognizes the work of documentary photographers from a global community of visual storytellers whose projects have the highest visual and storytelling components while exploring important global issues that affect us all—but also must document systemic solutions to the problems. Entries are evaluated by a panel of expert jurors and the winners are presented at Photoville, the annual fall photography festival in Brooklyn, NY, featured in ZEKE magazine, and presented in a traveling exhibition.
