Luxembourg, Republic of Ireland, European Union & European continent
Jan Guth (1989) is a documentary photographer based in Luxembourg, at the heart of the European Union. He focuses on capturing environmental and social issues across the continent. He honed his skills at the acclaimed VII Academy's Masterclass 2022/2023 in Arles. Guth is now advancing his expertise through an online part-time intensive program on visual storytelling at the renowned International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York.
He is a dedicated and passionate traveller to Ireland, motivated by his deep appreciation for the richness of Irish culture, language, and the spirit of the republic. Guth is committed to documenting Ireland’s unique scenery and vibrant communities while nurturing a profound bond with the land and its people.
Besides his dedication to photography, Guth works as a public servant and educator at Luxembourg's oldest public library. He founded dokumentarESCH, an initiative educating young adults on documentary photography, writing, and verbal expression. Additionally, Guth volunteers as a documentary photographer for the NGO Doctors of the World. As president of one of Luxembourg's oldest photographic associations, he nurtures community and artistic growth.
