Sergio is a freelance writer and photographer with a background in environmental and science reporting. He has experience both as a reporter and editor in a regional weekly in the island of Palawan - his home province. His written works have also appeared in inflight magazines of two national airlines. His first attempts at photography were made on point-and-shoot film cameras in the late 1980s. As a late adopter of digital photography, he only started shooting on a DSLR in 2017. His news photography have been published by GMA News Online in Manila until 2020. His documentary and editorial photography have appeared in communication materials of the World Wide Fund for Nature - Philippines (2019, 2022) and the World Economic Forum in 2021. He regularly contributes stock photos from Palawan to Getty Images.
