A Boy Struggling for Deserving Education Facilities : A boy who’s living on this remote place, they have to walk to go to school through the jungle with barefoot, there’s no shoes in this place, and the school is far away from their village.

During the year of 2019 to 2021, I traveled to a remote island in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. With this I will show you

“What is Open and Wounded”

This is their portrait, purity of soul and mind, upholding the will of their ancestors and guarding what has been passed down. In harmony with and respecting nature, to never over exploiting it. As well as a portrait of the gradation of changes in their life patterns towards modern humans who are carried away by global currents, and how it's actually destroying and wounded them slowly.

The exchange of souls while I'm taking their portraits brings with a deep sense of shame, as well as an awareness of how to be wise in doing something, starting from our most basic needs, with how we eat, where it come from, and whether we are wise enough in choosing and taking the sources we will use. As well as what is attached to our bodies, without destroying mother nature, and how we show our gratitude to ourselves and our nature.

The people's of Alor

My name is Muhammad Reza Pahlevi, I'm a bachelor of Social Science, graduated on 2018. I like to capture memories, travel around Indonesia, and conducting ethnographic research. During 2019-2021 as a Socio-Photographer, I take portraits of people's of Alor, and me and my team published a research book that includes portraits of them. The book of Alor is dedicated for them, so their upcoming generation will remember their ancestors and simply their parents stories.
