Mila is the longtime manager of Dieta Vitas, the last state owned kitchen in Chisinau, Moldova. Since partnering with World Central Kitchen, Mila has risen at 3:00 am daily to help the kitchen prepare 500 meals per day for refugees staying in shelters throughout Chisinau, Moldova.

Every day World Central Kitchen partner Cafeneaua din Gratiesti prepares 400 meals in the afternoon and 400 meals in the evening to be distributed to Ukrainian refugees staying in shelters throughout Chisinua, Moldova. Chef Ion prepares the evening menu of chicken, pasta, cabbage salad with mushrooms and and fresh break with cheese.

The Team Humanity Kitchen employs 15 local women and provides between 3,000-5,000 meals per day to approximately five shelters throughout Chișinău, Moldova and intends to soon expand their reach to provide meals within Ukraine.

Today the menu is a traditional Moldavian dish; pilaf, chicken and rice.

We’ve been to shelters saying we have food, and they say they have plenty of bread and crackers. When we say we have HOT food, they immediately invite us in.”

Once a place where athletes practiced and competed, the sports facility is now a temporary home for between 600 and 800 refugees, most of who are Romani.
