Remembrance Day, observed annually on November 11, is a solemn occasion in Canada dedicated to honoring the men and women who have served and continue to serve the nation during times of war, conflict, and peace.
In November 2017, at the Lachine War Memorial, I was profoundly moved by the solidarity displayed by veterans, former soldiers, members of the Royal Canadian Legion, political dignitaries, and residents from Lachine and nearby communities. The unity of the gathering was both humbling and inspiring.
I vividly recall the poignant parade of the Cadet Corps, a powerful tribute that brought everyone together to honor the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in military service and to pay respect to all who served during times of war.
The red poppy, a timeless symbol of Remembrance Day, was worn as a poignant reminder of our shared responsibility to honor the sacrifice of those who served.
I captured the emotional depth and communal spirit of the event, showcasing moments of reflection, unity, and gratitude. My photos are a visual testament to remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice of military service.
