Determined to show their anger at America’s president and administration, nearly 40,000 protestors took to the streets in Boston for one of over 1200 Hands Off Protests across the country. Condemning the administration’s gutting of DEI, gender-affirming care, an overreach by ICE targeting immigrants and the most recent tariffs, protestors marched, chanted and cheered on speakers that included US Senator Ed Markey, Congresswoman Ayanna Presley, and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu.

Protestors began on the Boston Common that once housed British redcoats and fostered the start of the American Revolution, marched across much of downtown to City Hall Plaza, and stood shoulder to shoulder in the rain listening to speakers and a finale of music by Boston’s beloved Dropkick Muphys.
