Photography has been my passion since I first picked up a camera at age eleven. After living in various European countries for ten years as a child, I developed an intense fascination and love for varied cultures. At University I majored in International Relations with a focus on Peace & Conflict Resolution and a minor in Photography.
My work as an editorial, documentary and travel photographer has taken me around the world and has taught me many things, but most importantly, that our similarities as fellow human beings far outweigh our differences. We all want a roof over our heads, to be able to provide food for our families, to love and be loved.
Sometimes the injustice in the world overwhelms me, but ultimately it motivates me. My passion for photography is matched only by my passion to help create a more just and peaceful world. The subjects I choose for my personal work are often people who show me something meaningful about our existence. I relay these stories to a larger audience with the hope of contributing to increased awareness and insight into the lives of others. Understanding is the first step towards more peaceful interactions.
