One life taken, One life saved. All in the name of feeding a community
Location:
Bolivia
organic fruits feed the first head of cattle ran entirely by Piccacho ranch. previous to our arrival there was a debilitating illness plauging the cows in the region. the locals had no intention on taking action so Uushi, our host, took it upon her self to seek treatment in the nearest town ( a 27 hour bud ride ) with many samples and tests finally a vet, was able to help administer nessisary medication to save the herds. the locals rejoiced and morris and ushi were able to for the first time in 8 years of tending to the animals , have there own brand
Bordering brazil, deep in the jungles of Bolivia, this sustainable ranch makes no waste of any part of the body. Swiss/German ex-pats employ local gouchos for a fee of a few fresh cuts of organic liver and homade grapefruit wine. we see the sacrifice of one life to feed the neighboring community, and maintaing the other aspects of farm life. Serendipidously the life of a second cow is saved from its swampy confines. We noticed it stuck in the neighboring pasture. en route to the neigbors. One life taken, a community fed, and another saved.
