Abstract, „Agbogbloshie“, Vera Nowottny
In November 2012, I traveled as part of a sponsored project (the Giz and Gotethe Institute / Ghana) to Ghana / Accra and photographed there my project „Made in Germany“ .
I photographed the workers and families in Agbogbloshie, an electric dump in Accra. In Agbogbloshie lands much electronic waste from Germany and Europe. Much of this e-junks is not recyclable, so the people there burn the unusable equipment, and then collect the wires of aluminum, copper, iron, etc. in order to sell them.
