Location:
Uganda
At the municipal dump in Kampala, Uganda some 200 human salvagers and countless marabou storks scavenge through the garbage. The men and women gather plastic, electronics and other scrap from raw garbage to sell to middle men for recycling. The storks search for food and coexist peacefully with the workers. The maribous are so toxic, no animal preys on them.
