Monica's house, serious damaged by the earthquake
In 2012 an earthquake devastated places and lives in a region of North Italy, Emilia. The earthquake caused a total of 27 victims , tens of thousands of homeless people, heavy damage to rural and industrial buildings, infrastructure as well as to most of the monuments and places of artistic interest of the involved areas. In Emilia Romagna the damage costs caused by the earthquake has been estimated at over € 12 billion, equivalent to almost 1% of the Italian GDP in that year. Monica is a widowed mother with 4 children, and runs a B&B that now is over. The house of the early '800 , where she lived with his family, part of which was used to welcome the guests , was severely damaged by the earthquake, its fate is to be demolished.
Nearly two years have passed from the events that have seriously tried this region, Monica’s family lives in a container house with 4 rooms, placed beside of the wounded house. Life goes on day by day with a sense of discontinuity since that times, a sort of Point Zero since which everything is measured. Inside the container, a united family who has still fear for the future but is alive, and wants to start over again.
