I took these pictures just in the beginning of December 2012 in a childrens place in Ougadougou.
When a woman gets married a second time in Burkina Faso in many cases the new husband rejects her existing children.
Mostly girls can stay, doing the homework and help to raise up the new kids. But the boys loose their place in the new familiy and their right to stay.
they start to live on the streets, many of them get addicted to drugs.
Hopefully they get picked up to live in a place where I met them, where they get the possibility to go to school, learn a job and once grown up , start a normal life again.
These portraits should tell them and the world outside how precious they still are.
