For the last decade I have been focused on documenting local conservation efforts targeting global conservation issues. Most of my work has been in the developing tropics and I have covered issues ranging from fisheries management to deforestation to watershed conservation to endangered species protection. In all of these situations I am looking at the complex dynamics inherent in these big issues from a human community perspecitve. I often travel alone or with a single representative from the NGOs I am working with and I pride myself on traveling light, fitting in quickly, and successfully uncovering the most relevant stories on the ground, on the fly.
