This is what happens everyday on Ganges, that for many indians is much more than just a flowing water stream.
Here people comes for praying, for devotion, for dying, but given the pervasive poverty many people also comes for basic vital functions, washing themself, clothes, stuffs, working, discussing, and also having fun.
Photographs were taken in the holy city Varanasi, the reportage wants to catapult the observer in this surreal world where life is considered a circle rather than a path
Emanuele Matarazzo is an amateur photographer based in Rome, Italy. He loves reportage photography, social photodocumentaries and takes inspiration mainly from Magnum masters of photography. As soon as he can he is travelling around the world, with a predilection for Asian countries.
