The Mampong Babies Home is operated by the Anglican Church Diocese of Kumasi, in Ghana. It also recieves support from the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts.
The Babies Home accepts infants whose mother has died in childbirth. They nurture and raise them until the family is able to take them back, usually when the father remarries or an extended family member can take them in. They are very rarely put up for adoption outside of the family.
In addition, the Diocese of Kumasi operates, on this campus, a degree program for midwives and nurses, plus primary and secondary schooling. Off campus they operate an eye clinic.

These photographs were taken to document the pilgrimage of six parishioners from the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts (DWM) and to document the work and conditions of the Babies Home for the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts, who has given financial and material aid to this Home.
