In April of 2012, a multi-organizational national immunization campaign was launched in Haiti which focused on bringing such vaccinations as polio as well as nutritional and vitamin supplements to children in areas lacking healthcare access. I traveled to Haiti on behalf of Micronutrient Initiative (www.micronutrient.org) to document the campaign, focusing on access, participation, and comfort.
Through my photography, I seek to facilitate understanding and empathy by demonstrating the connections and commonalities of people the world over. Joy, love, concern, and community are as important to me to document as are the challenges of poverty, lack of access or education, and other social ills.
