From 6th June till 5th July 2015 the Women’s Football World Cup will take place in Canada. But only very few teams are lucky to be part of it. Some parts of the world will not be presented at all like the Middle East and North Africa region. But countries in the MENA region also boast fantastic teams. The girls and women play football for gender equality, the right to play, against stereotypes and of course for fun. Generally women football is under-represented in the media and women teams still receive less support than men teams worldwide. My project on women’s football tells the untold stories of the development of football in the MENA region, Turkey, and a team in Berlin that is made up of girls with different cultural backgrounds (German, Arab, Turkish) - their obstacles, successes and impact on the girls and society.
