The Elevator that links Cantagalo Favela and Ipanema
This is the results of my research from May, June, and July this year in Rio De Janerio on community life and community storytelling. I aim to depict the new life the people in favela's are leading after the pacification of most favelas in Rio. The pacification is the result of many wars between cops and gangs and comes in a arge part due to the upcoming Olympics and World Cup.

I spent 10 weeks in Rio teaching photography at the Solar Meninos school in Cantagalo Favela and these are the results of my own shooting and reasearch while I was there. I became fascinated by the elevator between the righ area Ipanema and the Cantagalo Favela. I also had the honor to shoot for Harmonycanto a music Nonprofit in Cantagalo. It was fascinating to see the way the community functions and how the presence of security in the communities.
